Due to the great interest in the »Klangforum Wien« cycle, the available space is unfortunately exhausted. The concerts taking place in the Great Hall can be ordered as part of the special cycle »Klangforum Wien: Small Cycle in the Great Hall«.
We stand in huge landscapes of a planet that is drifting apart and see all around us the explosive impacts from the future that we cannot decipher. In seven concerts, Klangforum Wien visualises the power inherent in our world on the edge of the abyss. Be it the twitching beauty with which Pierre Boulez traces a crazy love, the uncompromisingness with which Beat Furrer musically exaggerates the despair of desire, the airiness with which Georg Friedrich Haas atomises sounds, the dark, with which Clara Iannotta lets birds of paradise circle in lost hearts, the boiling energy that Alex Paxton pours out over the ensemble, Wolfgang Mitterer's shameless take on the waltz world of Johann Strauss or the exploding love constellations from 100 years of music theatre in the absolutely new format of »Amopera«. This season's conducting fire comes from the two new conductors in residence Elena Schwarz and Vimbayi Kaziboni as well as Sylvain Cambreling, Ingo Metzmacher, Tim Anderson and Beat Furrer.
