Godfather of Punk
The "Godfather of Punk" is coming: Iggy Pop, living legend and role model for every punk band past and present graces the Vienna Konzerthaus!
Widely recognized as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time, Iggy Pop anticipated both the punk of the 1970s and the grunge of the 1990s. He rose to iconic status with his band The Stooges. The band's performances were characterized by an incredible energy and destructiveness. Iggy Pop carved out a gigantic career, marked by critical acclaim and fanatical cult: "A lot of what I did was, if you don't do it, I'll do it for you - I'll do it first." Anyone who has seen him live knows that the line "I'm a real wild one" is by no means a lie - whether it's a big outdoor stage or a small club stage, Iggy tears it up! In the meantime, Iggy Pop can look back on half a century of rock career, but he hasn't lost a bit of his energy.
