»Troubadour«

Martin Walker has made a name for himself not only as a writer, but also as a historian and journalist. For 25 years, the Scottish-born Walker worked for the British daily newspaper »The Guardian«. Since 2008, his protagonist Bruno Courrèges has been investigating as Chef de police in the popular crime series of the same name. In April 2023, Walker's novel »Troubadour. The Fifteenth Case for Bruno, Chef de police«. »Martin Walker is brilliant at blending history, current events, the political culture of France and the very specific thinking of the French provinces into new, exciting stories«, was what the press had to say about the author. For his promotion of French culture in the world, he was awarded the Prix Charbonnier by the Alliance Française in 2021. The author lives in Washington and in Périgord, a region characterized by its culture and also its cuisine - both elements that Walker incorporates into his literature.
