With his versatile voice, Canadian bass-baritone Gerald Finley knows how to convince on the opera stage, as recently at the Salzburg Festival as Falstaff, and in the concert hall. The celebrated singer, with his longtime chamber music partner Julius Drake, presents a program that is both stylistically diverse and harmonious. A selection of late Heine settings by Robert Schumann and songs from Franz Schubert's »Schwanengesang« are followed by a musical foray through all times of day and night and the highs and lows of amorous emotional states - with songs by Henri Duparc, Benjamin Britten, Cole Porter and others.
