In the heart of darkness
»Orpheus in the Underworld« - this thematic circle would be the most obvious to this year's »Resonances« motto, which Les Arts Florissants, however, only touch on marginally, and yet with a real rarity: »Orfeo nell'inferni« by André Campra is an Italian intermezzo in his French comédie-lyrique »Le carnaval de Venise«. Around it, the legendary French original sound ensemble groups a clever selection of magical pieces from the »realm of the deep«. Physically as well as psychically. Whether the battle of the elements at the beginning of creation or states of mind bordering on delusion and the workings of dark forces - follow Paul Agnew and Les Arts Florissants on their journey into the heart of darkness, conceived especially for the »Resonances« festival, where intensity and depth collide.
