Romanian fairy tales

When the Phiharmonic Five perform, you can always look forward to surprises. This time, the elite ensemble is devoting itself to the homeland of its pianist Adela Liculescu, Romania. Right at the beginning, a small sensation will take place in the Vienna Konzerthaus: almost 130 years after it was composed, the D major Piano Quintet by the then 14-year-old George Enescu will be performed here for the first time. The folkloristic element is not neglected after the interval, when Béla Bartók's »Romanian Folk Dances« meet virtuoso pieces by Grigoraș Dinicus (Jascha Heifetz praised him as »the best violinist he had ever heard») and popular melodies by the Romanian-French film music composer Vladimir Cosma. You can bet that his biggest hit, »Reality« from the 80s cult film »The Party or Ready for Love« with Sophie Marceau, will also be on the program!
