Subscription series and concerts for young people and young adults

sound:chat

Varied concerts and personal discussions with the artists in a relaxed atmosphere await you at the »sound:chat« cycle. Since Jess Gillam became the first saxophonist to win the BBC Young Musician competition in 2016, she has been a rising star on the saxophone scene. With her ensemble, she has travelled from Argentina to Iceland. Francesco Tristano from Luxembourg feels just as at home as a pianist in the concert hall as he does as a DJ in the club scene: he combines music from three centuries with his own works. Singer-songwriter LYLIT, who presents her project »NeuWien«, moves between classical music and jazz. And when the Moritz Weiß Klezmer Trio meets guitarist Simon Reithofer, everything from jazz to tango to klezmer is on offer. Once again this season, musician, composer and actor Michael Stark will host each one-hour concert and the Meet & Greet.

Following the cycle concerts - Buffet Berio-Saal

Meet & Greet
After the concerts you can meet the artists at the meet the artists for a drink* at the buffet. They are equipped with the latest records, chat from the sewing box and give give personal insights into their work. Moderated The Meet & Greet will be hosted by Michael Stark.

Vorhören!

A little-known programme symphony on Ariosto's »Raging Roland« by Augusta Holmès, Gustav Mahler's 4th Symphony, an opulent tone poem by Arnold Schönberg and »Der Rosenkavalier« by Richard Strauss are the colourful works that will be presented to the young audience in this cycle in age-appropriate workshops, while the adults will hear a first concert part presented by Barbara Rett.

Wahlabo U30

The subscription for everyone under 30

Are you under 30? Then you can visit highlights from classical music, jazz, world, singer-songwriter and pop to comedy & music or film for 15 euros per event with the »U30« season ticket. As part of the »U30« optional subscription, you can, for example, experience the top jazz band Shake Stew as well as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, singer-songwriter Anja Om with the Schmusechor or Helge Schneider, the master of quirky humour. L'Impératrice will provide an ethereal disco sound. There is also a reason to be happy for all those who want to dance into the night, but whose heart also beats for classical music: In the new concert format »konzerthaus.nachts«, a short, classical orchestral concert is followed by a DJ line in the Schubert Hall and in the foyers and bars of the Wiener Konzerthaus. From 9.30 pm, »konzerthaus.nachts« means: Party on!

klangberührt

British saxophonist Jess Gillam caused a sensation with her debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus in January 2023. Nicholas McCarthy, Franziska Fleischanderl and the duo Spaemann & Bakanic complete the musical cloverleaf: these artists offer people with and without disabilities barrier-free access to music in four inclusive concerts. With the »klangberührt« format, the Wiener Konzerthaus is making its visitors a very special offer: the distance between the podium and the audience is reduced and the traditional rules of the concert schedule are suspended. This creates a space in which concertgoers can spontaneously articulate their feelings and emotions.
