Joshua Bell © Richard Ashcroft

Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra / Bell / Harding

Bell feels an allegiance to the Franco-Belgian school of violin-playing. After all, he studied with a pupil of Ysaÿe, Josef Gingold. Fittingly, he will perform Chausson’s expressive musical portrait, «Poème», which was composed for Eugène Ysaÿe in 1896. And as Bell also admits that «Ravel is one of my favourite composer», he will also perform the Frenchman’s brilliant concert rhapsody «Tzigane» dating from 1924.
