Brian Blade: one of the best in his profession

There is hardly a jazz fan who is not familiar with Brian Blade: born in Louisiana in 1970, the drummer is considered one of the best in his profession and was awarded the German Jazz Prize in 2021. Brian Blade first performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus in 2003 - back then alongside Wayne Shorter. In his most recent guest appearance, he played as the third member of Wolfgang Muthspiel's trio. Now Brian Blade is making his debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus with his own band project, The Fellowship Band. With saxophonists Myron Walden and Melvin Butler, bassist Christopher Thomas and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, he presents his latest album »Kings Highway«.
