After a season of establishing herself as a worthy successor to her mentor Martin Grubinger, Vivi Vassileva now carries the majority of the »Percussive Planet« cycle. In a chamber music evening with the fantastic Simply Quartet and the multi-talented pianist Frank Dupree, a concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and with her Extasi Ensemble, which includes master students of Martin Grubinger, Vassileva presents herself as an interpreter of idiomatic percussion music, including a new percussion concerto by the Finnish composer Sauli Zinovjev. Guests opening the cycle are the celebrated jazz percussionist Brian Blade with his Fellowship Band - he has been a regular at the Wiener Konzerthaus since his debut alongside Wayne Shorter in 2003 - and the Jan Garbarek Group with Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu.
