Star tenor Juan Diego Flórez presents himself with the Sinfonía por el Perú, which he himself founded in 2011 based on the Venezuelan »Sistema« of youth orchestras, under the direction of up-and-coming conductor Ana María Patiño-Osorio. The aim of Flórez's foundation is to give children from underprivileged areas of his home country a perspective beyond poverty and violence. She now accompanies him in graceful Italian bel canto arias as well as songs by Spanish and Peruvian composers.
