Between Eros and Thanatos: Cécile McLorin Salvants »Ogresse«

Not just a jazz concert, but an original song cycle for the composer herself and a 13-piece chamber ensemble awaits the audience with »Ogresse«, a work by the exceptional artist and Grammy winner Cécile McLorin Salvant: »A dark, mysterious fairy tale about the balance between love, life and death that ends on a mountain full of snakes and flowers ...« This is how Cécile McLorin Salvant summarizes the story of "Ogresse" in a few words.

Argerich meets Zilberstein

Martha Argerich and Lilya Zilberstein have been a duo for a long time - to the delight of piano music lovers. The two world-class pianists have also performed together at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Both are considered experts in Romantic piano music and so Brahms and Schumann are also the focus of their joint recital. The evening is likely to be very special, not least because Zilberstein's sons Anton and Daniel Gerzenberg, the next generation of pianists, will also be taking to the stage.

Dazzling late Romanticism: Swedish Symphony Radio Orchestra · Christian Gerhaher

Christian Gerhaher once again proves that he is one of the most intelligent and sensitive lieder singers of our time in front of a large Konzerthaus audience: with Gustav Mahler's enchanting songs based on texts by the linguistic genius Friedrich Rückert. The Rückert songs will be flanked on this evening by Richard Strauss' popular tone poem »Also sprach Zarathustra« and another tone poem by the late Romantic composer Hugo Alfvén, performed by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Harding.
