Fatma Said
Born in Egypt in 1991, Fatma Said's musical journey began at the age of 14: She has been dedicated to music since her first singing lessons. Her passion for the many facets of the art of singing not only earned her a scholarship at La Scala in Milan and several international prizes, but also took her to renowned concert halls such as London's Wigmore Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall. On the opera stage, the sought-after soprano has already worked with directors such as Peter Stein. As part of her portrait series, Fatma Said proves herself to be an accomplished tour guide through German art song, a brilliant soloist in Pergolesi's »Stabat mater« as well as Mahler's Fourth, and furthermore, among other things, a fabulous interpreter of Gershwin's songs.
