Seven Last Words Of Christ
The portrait series featuring the Greek conductor Teodor Currentzis, which began with music of the French baroque, ends with the high classical period: Following Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s baroque Stabat mater, completed just weeks before the composer’s death, Currentzis turns his attention to Joseph Haydn’s instrumental music in the form of the Seven Last Words of Christ From the Cross, an essential work of the repertoire depicting the Passion of Christ.
