Majestic Birthday Serenade
Music of Orpheus Britannicus opens the anniversary edition of »Resonanzen«. Vincent Dumestre, who is inextricably linked to recent festival history, has prepared a majestic birthday serenade for this special occasion: Henry Purcell's festive »Lullaby« for Queen Mary II is followed by a picturesque spectacle for Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, alias Molière, who saw the light of day in Paris on January 15, 1622.
