Honest, Tender and Very Close
Melancholy or melancholy often leads to beautiful songs. Even if the artist behind it is a very life-affirming and cheerful person, as in the case of Maria Burger aka OSKA: »Life is full of disappointments and beautiful things. Both make me who I am.«
The young singer borrowed her stage name from her brother - but without the »r«: »It just sounds good, I've always liked the name Oskar. I actually wrote my first song with Oskar. I was about seven then, and I was still plucking on the violin.« OSKA's voice is fragile and at the same time full of substance. Her songs circle between love, life and family, some of them telling of personal experiences, others empathizing with the experiences of other people. So everything is there that good pop songs need!
