When music meets mathematics

Kit Armstrong is certainly one of the most unusual musicians: born in Los Angeles in 1992, the pianist and organist was already remarkably interested in both music and science as a child. His abilities in both fields predestine him to take on such complex artistic tasks as he has set himself for his upcoming recital: He contrasts Bach's "Art of the Fugue" with, among others, the »Musica ricercata« and selected etudes by jubilarian György Ligeti. It goes without saying that Ligeti's dizzyingly fast »Sorcerer's Apprentice« should not be missing.
