Fresh wind
Dorothy Khadem-Missagh received her first piano lessons at the age of three and was accepted at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at six. Today she is praised as a »breath of fresh air« (Gramophone Magazine) and is in demand internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. In early June, the Austrian pianist will perform Mozart's imposing Piano Concerto in C Major K 503 alongside the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, as well as Haydn's first "Paris Symphony," nicknamed »L'Ours« for its deep humming basses, and overtures penned by Mozart and Haydn - including the one for Mozart's opera »La finta giardiniera«, which the composer wrote for the Munich court. As a foretaste of the coming season, the designated principal conductor of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Jan Willem de Vriend, will be on the podium.
