As a child, he wanted to become a librarian or cosmonaut; today, he is a solo and concert pianist in demand around the world, who also excites the nighttime club scene as a DJ: Francesco Tristano is known for his versatility. »Every city has its own sounds, and it's important to take the time to listen to them«, the Luxembourg native said in an interview. Fittingly, he will open the »Film and Music« cycle alongside his Japanese colleague Cateen at the end of September, presenting his music to Joe May's melodrama »Asphalt«. With the groundbreaking technique of the unleashed camera, this jewel of Weimar cinema takes us to the electrifying Berlin of the 1920s, where street crime is part of everyday life and the thieving »Brillantenelse« knows how to ensnare the young constable Holk.
