Heroes of modernity

The turn of the century and its heroes: Anatol is considered one of the prototypical male figures of the fin de siècle; Arthur Schnitzler was in his twenties when he wrote the one-act play. In this episodic play, Schnitzler highlights a man's life that is only seemingly successful: behind the surface of the seductive Anatol, who is involved in a multitude of love affairs, lies a lonely soul. Michael Maertens, Gerti Drassl and Daniel Keberle take us into a world of decadence, with the ensemble klezmer reloaded providing the musical accompaniment.
