Great Talent: Simply Quartet
The Wiener Konzerthaus has always been committed to actively promoting young talent. In the area of chamber music, the Simply Quartet is a guest in the »Great Talent« cycle and gives an insight into its skills with compositions by Schumann and Brahms. For the performance of Dvořák's second piano quintet in A major op. 81, the quartet brings Stefan Mendl, the long-time pianist of the Vienna Piano Trio, on board as a guest. The quartet was originally founded in Shanghai, but relocated to Vienna, where it studies with Johannes Meissl at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts. Their artistic achievements have been recognized not least at renowned competitions, such as the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen and the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna.
