»Asteroid Fuga«

A space cowboy is a guest in the »Athmosphères« series with Pieter de Graaf: the Dutch pianist and composer sets off for a landing with his latest album »Retrograde« in the Berio Hall. In a world that is becoming ever denser, louder and shriller, de Graaf has turned his focus to the essential. For a long time, the son of a philosopher has been interested in the universe. Songs in his second album, »Equivox«, bear titles such as "»upernova«, among others. De Graaf decided, after a long musical journey in which he participated in a wide variety of bands, to follow a solo path that reflects all these influences and at the same time means a way back to himself. In search of the sounds that followed his musings on the universe associatively, he experimented with all kinds of instruments - such as flutes and synthesizers - and objects like pieces of wood. This resulted in pieces like his atmospheric »Asteroid Fuga«.
