»A space bounded by shadows«

Büchner Prize winner Emine Sevgi Özdamar, who grew up in Turkey and once worked in Berlin as an assistant director for theater greats such as Claus Peymann, reads from her latest novel »Ein von Schatten begrenzter Raum«, which has been described as a »shimmering opus magnum«, as part of the »Originalton« cycle. Her reading will be accompanied by the musical sounds of Fazıl Say's piano. Just as Özdamar translates Turkish idioms and images into German in her haunting works and has found her very own language, Fazıl Say often incorporates stylistic and rhythmic elements from his home country in his compositions.
