Fazıl Say is an impressive personality: his appearances, in which he performs a broad repertoire that seems to know no bounds, have taken him to major concert halls for decades. He is also an interpreter of his own works - over a hundred of them to date. But he only fulfilled one wish a few years ago: Bach's »Goldberg Variations« remained a long-cherished dream that could be realized - of all things - during the period of silence during the pandemic. It was only now that the pianist, who was born in 1970, found the opportunity to delve deep into the masterpiece, examine its structure, give each variation its own character and explore the relationships between the individual variations in order to create a complete work of art. In 2023, he also released a CD recording of the work, thus joining a history that resembles a pianistic Olympus in itself. You should not miss the chance to hear this work of art of changeability live!
