Touching musical stories
Jelena Popržan has been making Vienna's stages unsafe for around 10 years and has long since cemented her reputation as an imaginative arranger, expressive vocal artist and entertainer with comedic talent. The violist and singer is a musical free spirit who is at home in a wide variety of musical genres and knows how to let off steam creatively in any context. With her quartet with Christoph Pepe Auer on clarinet, Clemens Sainitzer on cello and Lina Neuner on double bass, Jelena Popržan also moves stylistically in all possible directions. Sometimes a more jazzy approach is chosen, sometimes colorful shimmering art songs, then again it is folkloristic melodies or high-energy rock riffs that carry her musical stories.
