»Mars«

At the beginning of the 17th century, when Johannes Kepler formulated his literally groundbreaking planetary laws, music was also in a state of upheaval. In her ingenious program, Giulia Genini parallels scientific and artistic aspects of eccentric modernism around 1600, cleverly illuminating Mars from two sides: The emancipation of pure instrumental music is illustrated, for example, by martial battaglia invocations of the ancient god of war; on the other hand, it was precisely Tycho Brahe's meticulous records of years of observations of Mars on which Kepler's revolutionary findings were based.
