Programme

»Paradies – ein Jubiläumsalbum«

Presented by Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft

»Paradise«

»Paradies« is a music album with and by Sigrid Horn and Felipe Scolfaro Crema to mark the 45th anniversary of the referendum on the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant. The album also features Mwita Mataro, Julia Lacherstorfer, Sarah Bernhardt, Ina Regen, Yasmo, Anna Mabo and Ernst Molden, all of whose songs were written for the occasion and recorded for the first time. Like the central location of the album itself, its songs are a conglomerate of memories, hopes, fears and all kinds of curious stories. Some songs try to pull our heads out of the sand to warn of impending doom and focus on our responsibilities and the environment. Others are about the years of desolate Limbo, when the power station was kept in good shape but could not be commissioned. Where initially 200 hopeful technicians wrapped cables in plastic and kept logs, later only the legendary »Hausmasda« did the rounds with his dog. »Ohne mi« is dedicated to the women who produced hundreds of sausage rolls every day in the local butcher's shop, but also to those who went on hunger strike against the trial operation of the nuclear power plant. »In deine Augen« is about families, relationships and friendships that broke down over ideological issues. The songs take us from the past to the present. »Tomorrow« has the final word. The album will be presented at the Wiener Konzerthaus on April 22, 2024.
