»Mallingers Abschied«

The legendary essay by John Maynard Keynes entitled »Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren« was published in 1930. In this text, the famous economist predicted that by 2030 at the latest, technological progress would make high prosperity possible for everyone with a standard working week of just 15 hours.
In terms of technological development, Keynes was right. The subject of Sven Hartberger's new novel »Mallingers Abschied oder Vom Sinn und vom Unsinn der Arbeit« is why the 15-hour week has still not come to fruition. The author and long-time director of Klangforum Wien will explore this central question of his new book in a discussion with the Chairman of the AMS, Johannes Kopf, and the audience.
The Klangforum Wien will reflect musically on the evaluation of facts and their changeability - using a sheet from Roman Haubenstock-Ramati's »Konstellationen« (portfolio with 25 sheets in copperplate engraving, etching, etching and aquatint).
