Presented by Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft

Sonata for 7 cities

The Italian »Corriere della sera« described Filippo Gorini as Maurizio Pollini's heir due to his intellectual approach. But he is not only an outstanding pianist, he is also trying to take a new approach to his concert career: »After much reflection on concert life and the limits of traditional touring, I have decided to organize the coming years in a completely different way. The idea is simple: instead of constantly traveling from one concert venue to the next, I will focus on seven cities in different parts of the world, staying in each for a whole month and offering much more than just a single performance.« In addition to a recital of sonatas, including a commissioned composition, at the Vienna Konzerthaus on February 26, you can experience Gorini in an orchestral concert in which he will play Beethoven's 2nd Piano Concerto with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. He will also be giving free private lessons to young pianists. Together with the education team of the Wiener Konzerthaus, he will also visit various school classes, care homes and other social institutions in the city and give free talk concerts there.
