Symphonie Classique - next generation

Two high-flyers who have won awards in the truest sense of the word set the tone at »Symphonie Classique«: Oscar Jockel, born in 1995, and Mao Fujita, born in 1998, present a program of both masterpieces and precious rarities by Viennese classics and their successors. Flanked by Beethoven's early »Music for a Knight's Ballet« and a Sinfonia by the »Spanish Mozart« Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga, Mozart's Piano Concerto in B flat major K 595 forms the highlight - a mature composition in which Mao Fujita can show off his astonishing skills. Fujita was one of the few pianists to present a highly acclaimed complete recording of Mozart's sonatas before his 30th birthday. The exceptional Tokyo-born musician has been well known to Konzerthaus audiences since his brilliant debut in 2023 with Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto with the Filarmonica della Scala, when he drew rapturous applause and standing ovations.
