The Austrian ensemble Alma and the Swedish Lena Jonsson Trio are both deeply rooted in the folk music of their respective homelands. By mixing it with music from other styles and countries, they give it a very individual, colorful and contemporary look. The five adventurers of Alma not only contribute to the preservation of tradition by unearthing deeply buried, often forgotten treasures of Austrian folk music. By combining folk music and classical music, yodeling and waltzing, composition and improvisation, they also dare to cross musical boundaries. The Lena Jonsson Trio makes its debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus with a subtle mix of Swedish folk music with jazz, American old-time music and electronic sounds. The visionary violinist and front woman of the trio, Lena Jonsson, is one of Sweden's best-known folk musicians.
