Brilliant soprano
»Nadine Sierra is truly sensational, both vocally and as a performer«, wrote Forum Opera in October 2021 about the American soprano. Even as a child, she knew she wanted to be a singer - inspired by her mother and the sounds of opera. Today, she is one of the most sought-after sopranos of our time and performs on the world's biggest stages, from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to La Scala in Milan. Her repertoire includes not only the great lyrical and dramatic roles such as Verdi's »La Traviata« but also more intimate song interpretations, which she always performs with a seemingly effortless ease. Her second solo album »Made for Opera«, released in 2022, is dedicated to the operatic characters Violetta (»La Traviata«), Lucia (»Lucia di Lammermoor«) and Juliette (»Roméo et Juliette«). This selection is inspired by Sierra's personal family history: Her Portuguese-born grandmother was denied the opportunity to pursue the path of a professional singer, which moved Sierra greatly. With her own career, she now wants to encourage young girls in particular to find their own way and take their destiny into their own hands. We are eagerly awaiting her recital in the Mozart Hall, where she will perform works by Richard Strauss, Hector Villa-Lobos and Giuseppe Verdi, among others.
