»Bach Cantatas«: L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra

To this day, Bach's legacy, the »musicalised« gospel in the form of almost three surviving cantata volumes and several passions, continues to inspire unreserved admiration: Michi Gaigg's L'Orfeo Barockorchester, which has been one of the most distinctive voices in historical performance practice for more than 25 years, interprets four of Bach's best-known cantatas.

Romantic symphonic music - Schubert's Fourth, the »Tragic« - and brilliant Viennese classical music take centre stage with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra under its chief conductor Jan Willem de Vriend. Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos in E flat major K 316a will be performed by one of the most sought-after piano duos, the brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen.

Thomas Quasthoff was only 14 years old when he first appeared on stage as a singer. When he ended his active career as a classical bass-baritone in 2012, Thomas Quasthoff by no means retired, but turned to one of his old passions, jazz singing, among other things. He is now returning to these roots - supported by outstanding German jazz instrumentalists.
