Festive Days of Early Music
In the era when people still dared to have dreams and wishes, European art music rejuvenated itself and fundamentally reinvented itself. That was some one hundred years ago. And for the Festive Days of Early Music, the Klangforum Wien has compiled 23 jewels from that time when the New was still young and when the magic of the New was still very much tangible. Following the grand opening concert in the Mozart Hall, there will two more evenings at special venues. And then the Festival will come to an end with two exquisite programmes in the Wiener Konzerthaus. Ferdinand Schmatz will accompany us with literary interventions along overgrown paths in the Arnold Schoenberg Center and in the Schubert Hall. And the head of the Wien Museum, Matti Bunzl, will uncover the delicate strings that tie the visual arts and musical inventions in this rich period.
