Diversity reigns here: while the Musicbanda Franui embarks on a folk music quest, star soloists Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Anna Prohaska explore depictions of Mary from the Middle Ages to the present day with the Ensemble Resonanz. Mandolinist Chris Thile and harpsichordist Jean Rondeau, portrait artist of the Wiener Konzerthaus, undertake solo flights of fancy. Lisa Batiashvili, a violin virtuoso in her own right and also a portrait artist, joins the Wiener Philharmoniker and Philippe Jordan on a journey into the 20th century. Gautier Capuçon presents Capucelli – his formation of formidable young cellists; and the vision string quartet makes a foray from classical to pop. »Un po' di tutto« at the highest level!
The concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Philippe Jordan on 28 May 2023 replaces the musicAeterna Orchestra concert originally scheduled for 7 October 2022.
