His recording of Schubert's »Schöner Müllerin« was enthusiastically acclaimed when it was released last year, and now Andrè Schuen is finally performing this song cycle live at the Vienna Konzerthaus. In her cycle debut, our portrait artist Regula Mühlemann presents songs in all the languages of her Swiss homeland. Our honorary member Christian Gerhaher dedicates himself to another Swiss composer, our honorary member Heinz Holliger. The soprano Asmik Grigorian, who made Salzburg Festival history as Salome and Elektra, gives - just a few days before his 150th birthday – a pure Rachmaninoff evening. Jazz pianist Brad Mehldau makes his debut in the "Lied" cycle alongside Ian Bostridge with Schumann's "Dichterliebe" and a work of his own. Five of the most interesting young singers will interpret ensemble and solo songs by Schubert, and at the end Christoph Prégardien and Udo Samel will let Goethe have his say.
