An experience for music - because sound touches.
The Wiener Konzerthaus would like to make it music accessible to all music lovers. This means that the concert experience »klangberührt« (»sound-touched«) is open to people with and without disabilities. Fixed rules that have become established in the classical concert business over the last hundred years are largely suspended here. A unique feature is the special setting in the Schubert Hall, where the distance between the stage and the audience is reduced. This creates a concert format in which much is possible and allowed: a space in which concertgoers are allowed to spontaneously articulate their feelings and emotions – with no barrier at all. The music mediator Lilian Genn interacts with the audience and the use of light and colours appeals to all the senses – thus enabling a holistic and comprehensive approach to listening to music.
