7 Konzerte im Großen Saal
Saalplan mit 8 Kategorien (Großer Saal)
To be heard at »Klavier im Großen Saal«: benchmark works in equally benchmark interpretations. In his cycle debut, Víkingur Ólafsson explores Bach's »Goldberg Variations«, Daniil Trifonov follows up an already splendid series of works by Rameau, Mozart and Mendelssohn Bartholdy with Beethoven's »Hammerklavier Sonata« and Elisabeth Leonskaja presents her Schubert expertise. Rudolf Buchbinder and Arcardi Volodos, who is known for his knowledge of Romantic piano music in particular, also pay homage to the tonal beauties in Schubert's oeuvre. Jan Lisiecki traces the triumphant progress of the versatile miniature »prelude« in music history; Chopin's Préludes are, of course, not to be missed. And where the piano journey through time goes with grand seigneur Grigory Sokolov remains exciting to the end.
