The »Originalklang« cycle is packed with sensations: Vivaldi's »Four Seasons« returns to the stage of the Great Hall after 20 years with Ottavio Dantone's Accademia Bizantina. Christophe Rousset's Les Talens Lyriques even bring the first Austrian complete performance of Lully's »Atys«. Michi Gaigg's L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra debuts in the Great Hall with the first three cantatas from Bach's Christmas Oratorio. The superstar among countertenors, Jakub Józef Orliński, debuts with the ensemble Il Giardino d'Amore and portrait artist Fatma Said in the Great Hall, Amandine Beyer and Kristian Bezuidenhout shed new light on Mendelssohn, and VOCES8, the discovery of the »Resonanzen« 2016, embark on completely new paths with violin virtuoso Rachel Podger. Finally, Václav Luks and his Collegium 1704 provide a special surprise: the world's first performance of the serenata »Le nozze di Nettuno e di Teti« by Dresden court conductor Johann David Heinichen since 1726. An absolute must-have for all friends of early music!
