Established keyboard and pedal artists meet up-and-coming stars: musicians from several generations take their place at the Rieger organ. He is considered by many to be the epitome of the Austrian organ scene: Martin Haselböck presents a recital of modern works to mark his 70th birthday. The program includes compositions by Arnold Schönberg, whose 150th birthday is in 2024, Ernst Krenek and his wife Gladys as well as Ligeti's work of the century »Volumina«. We can also celebrate the return of Hungarian organist Balász Szabó, who made a brilliant debut as a stand-in in 2023. We welcome two debutants this season: the British Anna Lapwood, who received the Royal Philharmonic Society's »Gamechanger« award for her unconventional programming and virtuosity, and the French-born Latry student Thomas Ospital. In his program, he explores the wide world of arrangements from Bach to Saint-Saëns and Rachmaninoff.
