Mittagsmusik
8 Konzerte mittwochs im Schubert-Saal
Saalplan mit 2 und 4 Kategorien (Schubert-Saal)
The »Mittagsmusik« cycle already knows the big names of tomorrow: they include the pianists Andrey Gugnin, Arsenii Mun, Yoav Levanon and Giorgi Gigashvili, who present themselves to the audience of the Wiener Konzerthaus after winning international competitions. With playful ease, gripping power, aristocratic elegance and stupendous fluency, they span the spectrum from Scarlatti to Mozart, Liszt and Prokofiev. The Silver-Garburg piano duo, who are well known to audiences, have long been closely associated with Schubert's oeuvre. Fans of chamber music will also get their money's worth at the concerts by Opus Klassik award-winning violinist Maria Ioudenitch and the Javus Quartet, which is considered one of the most talented string ensembles in the country. Singer Julia Muzychenko, who has already made guest appearances on international opera stages, is also likely to be heard a lot: she lends her voice to (late) romantic songs of the most diverse provenance, accompanied by none other than Helmut Deutsch.
