Musik im Gespräch
5 Konzerte im Großen Saal mit Gesprächen zur Einführung
Saalplan mit 6 Kategorien (Großer Saal)
From a late Baroque allegorical opera based on Ovid's »Metamorphoses« to works by the grand masters Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms to Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, which the latter provocatively claimed to have written »just for fun«, the music in this cycle ranges from the very best performers to music that has been discussed by experts of the highest calibre. The focus of these discussions is not so much on specific introductions to the works, but on the cultural contextualisation of the respective music. In the subsequent concerts, major traditional orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra shine alongside luminaries of historical performance practice - from young portrait artist Raphaël Pichon to old master Jordi Savall. Classical stars such as violinist Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and pianist Yefim Bronfman shine as virtuoso soloists.
