Originalton
1 Lesung im Mozart-Saal
2 Lesungen im Berio-Saal
Three authors tell stories about life in »Originalton«, accompanied by music. We start with author Doris Knecht, who is an integral part of the Austrian literary and media landscape. While her novel »Gruber geht« told the story of a seriously ill man, she wanted to »write a cheerful book for once« with her latest publication, from which she will now be reading: »Eine vollständige Liste aller Dinge, die ich vergessen habe« (A complete list of all the things I have forgotten) deals with the turning point in a woman's life - the children are fledged and allow the 50-year-old mother to wander into a new phase of life. The Austrian singer-songwriter Felix Kramer will sing »Oh how beautiful life is«. The heroine of Navid Kermani's »Das Alphabet bis S« deals with a year full of losses by following the rule of reading all the books that remain unread on the shelf. Composer and percussionist Manos Tsangaris and pianist Pi-hsien Chen accompany the literary self-discovery. In Ilija Trojanow's time travel novel »A Thousand and One Tomorrows«, the chronicler Cya sets off from a paradisiacal future full of justice to the sorrowful past in order to optimize it retrospectively. Dietmar Wiesner and Sava Stoianov, members of the magnificent Ensemble Modern, travel along with flute and trumpet.
