The »Nouvelles Aventures« cycle combines contemporary music and historical depth of focus: following an unconventional orchestral concert by the Vienna RSO under its chief conductor Marin Alsop, the Strasbourg-based Ensemble Linea presents a new work by Clemens Gadenstätter for extended rock band. A semi-staged ride through the opera literature of the last hundred years with Klangforum Wien forms a bridge to the anniversaries of three great composers of the 20th and 21st centuries: Beat Furrer, who turns seventy this year, is celebrated by the ensembles PHACE and Cantando Admont. Helmut Lachenmann's 90th birthday in 2025 is an occasion for Trio Catch to juxtapose his »Allegro sostenuto« with works by young composers. And the Quatuor Diotima celebrates the 100th birthday of Pierre Boulez with his only string quartet.
