The »Cuvée« cycle combines fine wines and fine concerts - and variety is the trump card in both areas: with Herbert Pixner and Gregory Porter, we are expecting two superstars from genres beyond classical music. In addition, there will be exquisite orchestral concerts of different styles: the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will interpret Gustav Mahler's colossal 6th Symphony under the direction of Vladimir Jurowski, chief conductor of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and general music director of the Bavarian State Opera. Julian Rachlin will be conducting the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra when violin virtuoso Nikita Boriso-Glebsky shines with Max Bruch's popular 1st Violin Concerto. Finally, we look forward to the debut of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal with its chief conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin. The soloist in Camille Saint-Saëns' popular Piano Concerto No. 2 is shooting star Alexandre Kantorow - a proven expert in this gripping work thanks to his highly acclaimed recording and frenetically celebrated concert performances.
