Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Narek Hakhnazaryan and Georgy Tchaidze are joined in this cycle by two further formations of renowned soloists and chamber musicians dedicated to the traditional genre of the piano trio: Isabelle Faust, portrait artist Sol Gabetta and Kristian Bezuidenhout on the fortepiano dedicate themselves to Beethoven and Schubert in their original sound. Renaud Capuçon, Kian Soltani and the young pianist Mao Fujita, on the other hand, stand for the great romantic sound. The works performed include Beethoven's »Archduke Trio«, Schubert's two great trios and Brahms' early genius B major trio, some of the most popular contributions to the genre, but also fascinating, less frequently performed gems.
