Prick up your ears!
»He is a genius!« These are the legendary words with which Martha Argerich – nearly 40 years ago – launched the career of one of today’s most memorable pianists. The Grande Dame stormed out of the jury when it became clear that Ivo Pogorelich would not be awarded the First Prize of the Chopin Competition. He may not have won the competition, but he has since conquered the stages of the world’s musical centres with his unique interpretations. His approach to the solo romantic piano repertoire is highly original and acrobatic. And »Prick up your ears!« is the motto when he performs well-known »classics« such as Mozart's C-minor Fantasy.
