A musical summit meeting of two formations that stand for brass band music as artistically high concert music like few others. Canadian Brass was founded in Toronto in 1970 and since then has played an incredible 5,000 concerts in various formations; their discography contains around 60 albums. Sprung from the environment of their hometown's symphony orchestra, the quintet Canadian Brass captivates with the exceptional skill of its instrumentalists and the subtle artistry of the arrangements of the chosen material.
Federspiel was founded in 2004 as a septet of musicians from the environment of the Music University and Conservatory of Vienna into artistic life and convinces with the variety of their activities, award-winning album releases, film music and concert performances. In 2015 they received the 1st prize of the Austrian World Music Awards, and they are constantly evolving as a sound collective. Federspiel compose their own material, drawing from the musicians' wealth of imprints, experiences and training, from folk music to an original pop appeal.
Exhilarating transatlantic harmony and crafty brass interplay are to be reckoned with!
