Handel's Italian years undoubtedly belong to the great wonders of music history. This was no »output«, what the young Saxon delivered there for his benevolent patrons, but the »outburst« of a lavish abundance of breathtaking music, which bubbled to paper with seemingly divine ease. One of these marvels is now brought to the Mozart-Saal by the young London ensemble Opera Settecento in its Konzerthaus debut: the enchanting shepherd cantata »Aminta e Fillide«, quarry for Handel's Venetian opera »Agrippina«. In the title roles, the British soprano duo Fair Oriana, this time in period costumes and a period production by Brian Robins.
