Jess Gillam
Jess Gillam gained international attention in 2016 when she became the first saxophonist ever to win the woodwind final of the nationally televised BBC Young Musician competition. Her debut at the BBC Proms the following year led immediately to a re-invitation. At the 2018 Proms, she appeared in no less than three concerts, including the famous »Last Night of the Proms«. Jess Gillam is the first saxophonist to be signed to Decca Classics, and her debut album »Rise« shot straight to No. 1 in the British classical music charts. She also programs and hosts programs on television and radio. She also commissions new compositions to expand the saxophone repertoire. As a Rising Star of the European Concert Hall Organization (ECHO), she is finally making her debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus.
